Equipment Engineer - Singapore
Position: Equipment Engineer
- Singapore
Location: Singapore

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tool builds starting from incoming material to final Systems Test, including general and Customer Special tests.
  • Responsible for integration, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and optical issues.
  • Initiate manufacturing floor escalations.
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for issue resolution.
  • Assist Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining area metrics.
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities including updating work instructions to implement improvements and eliminate possible errors.
  • Report issues with product changes and enhancements, design, reliability, maintenance problems or bugs, and provide feedback.
  • Participate in training and maintenance of the Sequence of Event (SOE) to ensure quality and reduction in build time.
  • Support and Coordinate supplier OEM calls, ensuring efficient use of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) resources.
  • Submit and Update Requests for Action (RFAs), including closing out findings, creating reports and determine/implement proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Create and maintain company documentation, such as manufacturing work instructions, procedures, etc.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 3 years related Semiconductor experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work well independently or as a part of a team. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and personal interface skills needed.
  • Must be fluent in reading and writing in English. 
  • A strong understanding of electrical or mechanical required.
  • Stong understanding of pneumatic, optical systems; HVAC and cooling/chiller technology is desired. 
  • Ability to understand and analysis computer software implementation and communication.

·Other desirables include experience with:

  • Capable with: Excel, MSOffice Apps, Adobe, Framemaker, ASK applications (ManMan, OMAR, ServiceMan)

Position: Optical Engineer / Research Scienist

Duties:

  • Researcher dedicated to Ultratech’s laser product line.
  • Develop and experiment with various lasers for semiconductor applications.
  • Design or be the interface design consultant for new optical systems.
  • Evaluate concepts with lab testing and modeling.
  • Provide tolerancing specifications and instructions to vendors and internal engineering staff.
  • Define opto-mechanical interfaces, test requirements, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Become the technical expert for the optical systems on our current and new product lines.
  • Respond to escalated technical questions from our customers or field support staff.

Requirements:

  • Engineering. Ph.D is preferred.

Mechanical Design Engineer/ Design Drafter (Temporary)
Position: Mechanical Design Engineer/ Design Drafter (Temporary)
Location: San Jose, CA

Duties:

  • Execute subsystem design projects from sketches and rough concepts, modify existing designs, and work with suppliers to quote and fabricate parts.
  • Create and maintain bills of materials, assemble, install and perform subsystem testing, and manage rework.
  • Create part drawings, assembly drawings, and models of purchase parts in SolidWorks to Ultratech standards.
  • Design high power laser mounts, motorized mirror beam path, alignment tooling, electrical interfaces, water cooling manifold and distribution system, and modifying existing assemblies to accommodate new subsystems.

Experience/education required:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience as design engineer or design drafter.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks (minimum 2 years) for modeling and creating detail and assembly drawings.
  • Quickly adapt to Ultratech standards and practices.
  • Manage files in SmarTeam (solid model PDM system) to Ultratech standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, be resourceful, and be able to work independently.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  •  Must have experience with designing and selecting components for water cooling distribution systems.
  • Must be able to assemble parts and validate performance. Experience with semiconductor equipment designs, SEMI safety standards, optical systems, and/or lasers systems a plus.

Director of Quality
Position: Director of Quality
Location: San Jose, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems and procedures to meet ISO 9001 and
  • 14001 standards, legal and regulatory requirements, and customer specified programs.
  • Plan, control, and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems. Determine and lead organization to assure tasks are completed to meet company/project/customer requirements.
  • Use a wide range of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and Quality skills to develop, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems and activities.
  • Define and specify the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the performance, precision, accuracy, and quality/reliability of company products – including component parts and subsystems.
  • Participate in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Review and approve engineering designs, technical data, and drawings.
  • Develop quality provisions, specifications and testing/validation requirements.
  • Lead Supplier Quality Management activities to include: Supplier evaluation and selection; material/assembly acceptance criteria; material review board (MRB) activities, disposition, and corrective action; system audits and recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead and perform product validation and failure analysis activities. Requires strong engineering knowledge – understanding of schematics, system architecture, and applications processes.
  • Acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate corrective and preventive action, process analysis and product and process improvements. Prepare and deliver technical presentations to upper management and the customer.
  • Select, develop, manage, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of
  • the function. Coach, counsel, and direct personnel. Establish performance goals and objectives, evaluate performance, and write appraisals.
  • Develop and manage budgets, and other financial analysis required to efficiently run the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in engineering discipline – preferably Electrical Engineering. Understanding of optical designs, software and firmware a plus Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements
  • Posses and apply a knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools, and reporting.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of related experience for company designing/manufacturing complex electromechanical systems - including 5 years of management/direct supervision experience.
  • Semiconductor capital equipment company equipment experience a plus.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral. Ability to write thorough failure analysis reports in an 8D format (or similar)
  • Demonstrated strength in conflict resolution. Able to influence the organization, suppliers, and customers
  • Adept at dealing with all levels in the organization, and with customers. Poised, confident, professional
  • Extensive experience with complete MS Office suite: Excel, Power Point, Word, and Project. Knowledge of SolidWORKS, AutoCAD, OrCAD, and PADs a plus.
  • Understanding of ERP system fundamentals. Knowledge of MANMAN a plus
